Statement Type and Common Distracter Types
Let me introduce myself. My name is St.Masita Nur Khalifah. I’am a student in Business English Communication at Universitas Negeri Makassar.
Today I'm back with a new story on a new day too. Today as usual I live my life as a student and of course I also learn today. I had an IIEC listening lesson this morning, we had a virtual meeting for about an hour and then we did the assigned task.
Today, in the IIEC Listening course, we learned about Statement Types and Common Distracter Types.
1. Statement Types
Statement Types are divided into three namely.
a. Statements about activities
These statements often use the present continuous tense : be+verb+ - ing.
Exs: They're shaking hands
b. Statements about conditions
These statements may use the expression there is/are or the verb is/are or has/have.
Exs : There are books on the shelf.
c. Statement about location
These statements use prepositions of place, such as in, on, under, over, above, next to, beside, between, behind, and in front of.
Exs : The computer is on the table.
2. Common Distracter Types
Statements with some correct information along with some incorrect information are among the most common distracter types in part 1. Incorrect information often contains information that seems correct but is not.
We were given a task that was quite fun but also not as easy as one might think. We got some problems when we wanted to do it, such as a bad internet connection, an error website and well, we didn't understand the task given.
I am also grateful to my beautiful lecturer, missnoopyy. She really embraces and guides us so that we can finally complete the assigned task. Well maybe this is my story about today, thank you for reading.
