Industry, Job, and Career.

Let me introduce myself. My name is St.Masita Nur Khalifah. I’am a student in Business English Communication at Universitas Negeri Makassar.

Today in IIEC Listening course we learned about Industries & Professional Attributes Vocabulary, Job Description, Applying For a Job, Job Interview, Business Idioms Vocabulary, Working Relationships, and Career Outcomes.

1. Industries & Professional Attributes Vocabulary

In this sub-material we are given a new vocabulary regarding the Industries & Professional Attributes Vocabulary which may rarely be used in everyday life.

2.Job Descriptions

English uses "a" or "an" in job descriptions and to introduce new information. The zero articles refer to general things, and " the" refers to specific things.

3. Applying For a Job

Cover letters for job applications should sound fluent and confident. Using the correct prepositions after verbs, nouns and adjectives can help you achieve this.

4. Job interviews

In a job interview, it is important to describe your achievement in a specific and detailed way. You can use relative clauses to do this.

5. Business Idioms Vocabulary

In this sub-material we are given a new vocabulary regarding Business Idioms Vocabulary.

Exs : To totally agree = to see eye to eye.

6. Working Relationships

Phrasal verbs are commonly used to talk about relationships with co-workers and clients. It is important to use the correct word order with phrasal verbs.

7. Career Outcomes

To talk about possible future events, such as career development and promotion, use "will" , "might", and "won’t" to say how likely something is to happen.

In this activity, we did a lot of new activities, such as answering a crossword puzzle. This is something we just did while studying in the IIEC Listening course and it was really fun even though I got a few red marks and failed, but I know this because I haven't studied harder yet.
