Listen to Dialogue
Let me introduce myself. My name is St.Masita Nur Khalifah. I’am a student in Business English Communication at Universitas Negeri Makassar.
Today we study Listening 4 Academic Purpose as usual. Today we learn by listening to dialogues.
Listen to dialogue can be very helpful for practicing our listening skills. When listen the dialogue, we need to understand the topic being discussed, who is speaking, and the content of the dialogue itself.
We were shown about 6 dialogues on the topic of origin, ancestry, family origin, and also hobbies. To be honest, I have difficulty when I have to answer questions related to the dialogue given. This is because I don't really understand the dialogue. And since then I have started learning to add to my vocabulary so that when listening to dialogues or texts I can catch the information conveyed through these dialogues.
Here is an example of the given dialogue.
A : Where are your family root?
B : They was Indish, Jamaica infact. But I live in
England all my life.
A : Have you ever visited Jamaica?
B : No, I haven't. But members of my family
from Jamaica have been here a few time.
