Listen to the Text

Let me introduce myself. My name is St.Masita Nur Khalifah. I’am a student in Business English Communication at Universitas Negeri Makassar.

Today we study Listening 4 Academic Purpose as usual. Today we study by listen to the text.

The text given this time tells about a man who loves cricket. The text tells about a major cricket match around the world, namely the Cricket World Cup which is held every 4 years.

When listen to the text, at first I could understand the information being discussed or given, however, when I had passed the middle of the text I began to not understand what was being discussed in the text and this made it very difficult for me to answer the questions given. As a result, none of the answers I chose were correct.

Here's a snippet of the text.

   The Cricket World Cup take place every four years. The first one was in 1975 and the second one in four years later. 

    I want to watch Ireland or England play. In 2007, Ireland play in the world cup first time and they are play in West Indish. So, I couldn't go and watch in television.
