Strategy : Listen for Idioms

Let me introduce myself. My name is St.Masita Nur Khalifah. I’am a student in Business English Communication at Universitas Negeri Makassar.

Today we study Listening 4 Academic Purpose as usual. Today we learned about strategies in Listening, namely Listen to Idioms.

1. Idioms are a series of words that cannot be interpreted literally but represent the implied meaning of these words.

Example :

1. Better late then never

2. Two heads are better

3. Kill two birds with one stone

4. Lets bounce

5. Get on the ball

6. Locked in

7. Hold your horses

8. In the bag

9. Hang on a second

10. Driving me bananas
