Strategy : Passive Voice

Let me introduce myself. My name is St.Masita Nur Khalifah. I’am a student in Business English Communication at Universitas Negeri Makassar.

Today we study Listening 4 Academic Purpose as usual. Today we learned about a strategy in Listening, namely Passive Voice.

Passive Voice is a sentence where the subject in the sentence is subjected to an action or activity from the verb. There are two strategies for answering questions in the form of passive voice, namely:

1. If the question expresses Active Voice, then the answer to the question is in the form of a Passive Voice

2. If the question expresses Passive Voice then the answer to the question is in the form of an Active Voice.

Example :

Active : Mary wrote the book

Passive : The book was written by Mary.
