Types of Sources
Hi! I’m St. Masita Nur Khalifah, a Business English Communication student, batch 2022. In my English for Journalism class, I learned about four key types of sources that help ensure accurate and credible reporting:
1. Related Person: Someone directly involved in or connected to the story, offering personal insights.
2. Eye Witness: Provides firsthand accounts of events, adding authenticity to the story.
3. Expert: A specialist with deep knowledge of the topic, lending credibility to your report.
4. People in Authority: Government officials, law enforcement, or leaders who offer official perspectives.
By selecting the right sources—related people, eye witnesses, experts, and those in authority—you can create a well-rounded, credible story. These tips have helped me understand the importance of choosing sources that provide diverse, reliable insights.
